If you’re like most people, there are several places outside of your country that you’d love to visit. You might have some landmarks on your dream board. As awesome as it is to dream about world travel while we don’t have the means, it’s the little steps that we take now that will determine how far we’ll go.
One of the easiest steps is to get a passport. Everybody knows that what’s easy to do is easy not to do, which is why so many people will miss out on the common goal of traveling the world. Here are 4 reasons to have a passport.
1. What Would You Like to Learn?
Everybody knows that traveling is one of the greatest ways to learn. You observe the lifestyles of different cultures. You pick up tidbits of, or even entire new languages. You sample food that is rare or unavailable in your general area. And then there’s the smaller things like knowing how it feels to ride in a plane or on a cruise ship. You may catch some glimpses of all those things while sitting at home, browsing around on a computer, but ain’t nothing like the real thing. A passport will literally give you backstage pass to see how things really work in other countries, as opposed to just watching it on a computer screen.
2. Is America Really the World’s Greatest Country?
3. Are These Real Places?!
4. What If?
What if that book you’re writing right now becomes a bestseller overseas, and someone from another country, for example, Thailand, invites you over to promote it? What if you make a friend on Facebook, which develops into a long-distance relationship with someone from another country? What if your business gets to the point where you can make global expansions? What if your best friend invites you to their wedding in another country? What if your boss needs you to go on a business trip to another country? Are you really going to look all the people involved in the eyes and say “No, I can’t make it because I don’t want to get a passport”?
Make a nice day!
